Flats Re-Model

This project involved the substantial refurbishment and re-modelling of three flats in Hampshire. The brief was to create a new ground floor foyer, add space and light to the cramped first floor landing and refurbish/remodel the flats in a clean, simple contemporary style.

We prepared accurate existing and proposed digital drawings and assisted in the preparation and collation of a schedule of works. This allowed the accurate pricing of the works by one of our preferred builders. We provided assistance with the preparation and submission of successful building control and planning applications. A condition reports was also undertaken and highlighted various defects which were incorporated into the build to minimise disruption.

Space for the new ground floor foyer was created by removing an unused concrete staircase and structural walls and replacing with steel supports. A new glazed door and side panel provided smart new access and additional daylight.

The re-positioning of a bathroom with rooflight and removal of stud partition walls created the space for an enlarged first floor hallway. The existing rooflight was widened providing abundant natural light to the stairs and landing. A small north-facing window to one of the flats was widened and the structural wall cut away to floor level. Steel support was installed and a pair of powder coated aluminium french door with juliet balcony fitted. This provided much needed daylight and views to the rear. New rooflights were fitted in the entrance halls to two of the flats providing additional light. Existing partition walls dividing kitchen/dining areas in the flats were removed and new kitchen units with islands added.
